Climb Any Mountain, the charity committed to transforming the living conditions of people with intellectual disability and mental illness has today (Monday 7 October 2013) launched a Twitter campaign called “Lend Your Voice”, to raise awareness of the need to support and empower people to live lives they love.
The campaign invites everyone to “lend their voice” by visitng the Climb Any Mountain’s website and supporting the statement “People with intellectual disability and mental illness have the right to a voice and choice over their lives.” The campaign is part of the charity’s lead up to World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10 October 2013, and will run until the end of November 2013.
Commenting on the campaign, Climb Any Mountain founder and trustee, Kim Crossman said: “We think that it is really important that people, regardless of their intellectual disability and mental illness, colour, sex or creed should have the right to a voice and choice, without their personal freedom being compromised. In celebration of World Mental Health Day, this is just a simple way to raise awareness everywhere.”
