We are creating a short film that will be premiered at the Climb Any Mountain TLC Gala Dinner and Auction on 25 October 2013. The film will powerfully tell the story of what it is like to live with mental illness and intellectual disability, and why Climb Any Mountain has been so inspired to make a difference to the lives of these individuals.
The film will be created in two distinct sections. The first section will be filmed in South Africa and focus on two people in residential care as they go about their every day lives. It will explore what it is like to live with mental illness and intellectual disability in South Africa. The film will aim to gain an insight into how they see and experience their world and some of the challenges they face.
The second section of the film will be based in London and comprise of an interview with Climb Any Mountain’s founder, Kim Crossman. Kim will share her story on why she felt inspired to found Climb Any Mountain, and explore her journey of what she has created, from an idea and belief that everyone has the right to live and flourish independently.
The team responsible for creating and producing the film, consists of a dynamic and talented group of UK based filmmakers: producer and director Jaha Browne who has worked with Raw TV and Tigerlily Films, director Laurence Reading who has created several short films and music videos and runs his own production company, Flipbox Creative, and producer Ricky Keogh, who has collaborated on several short films and documentaries. All of the team is generously giving their time and expertise for free.
